Predictive nonlinear biplots: Maps and trajectories

چکیده

When the difference between samples is measured using a Euclidean-embeddable dissimilarity function, observations and the associated variables can be displayed on a nonlinear biplot (Gower and Harding, 1988). Furthermore, a nonlinear biplot is predictive if information on variables is added in such a way that it allows the values of the variables to be estimated for points in the biplot. I will introduce a predictive nonlinear biplot map, an r dimensional plot which displays the predicted value of a variable for every point in the plot. Using such maps I will show that when the dissimilarity function with respect to a new point is not smooth everywhere, the set of predicted values can appear discrete even though the data are assumed to be continuous. That is, on an r dimensional biplot the region of points that predict a given value might also be r dimensional. Prediction trajectories that approximate 2 dimensional predictive regions are also introduced. These prediction trajectories allow information about two or more variables to be displayed on such 2 dimensional biplots.

Robust Trajectory Free Model Predictive Control of Biped Robots with Adaptive Gait Length

This paper employs nonlinear disturbance observer (NDO) for robust trajectory-free Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC) of biped robots. The NDO is used to reject the additive disturbances caused by parameter uncertainties, unmodeled dynamics, joints friction, and external slow-varying forces acting on the biped robots. In contrary to the slow-varying disturbances, handling sudden pushing ...

Adaptable Radial Axes Plots for Improved Multivariate Data Visualization

Radial axes plots are multivariate visualization techniques that extend scatterplots in order to represent high-dimensional data as points on an observable display. Well-known methods include star coordinates or principal component biplots, which represent data attributes as vectors that define axes, and produce linear dimensionality reduction mappings. In this paper we propose a hybrid approac...

Thrust - Limited Optimal Three - Dimensional Spacecraft Trajectories

Several optimal three-dimensional orbital transfer problems are solved for thrust-limited spacecrafts using collocation and nonlinear programming techniques. The solutions for full nonlinear equations of motion are obtained where the integrals of the free Keplerian motion in three dimensions are utilized for coasting arcs. In order to limit the solution space, interior-point constraints are use...

Convergence of trajectories in infinite horizon optimization

In this paper, we investigate the convergence of a sequence of minimizing trajectories in infinite horizon optimization problems. The convergence is considered in the sense of ideals and their particular case called the statistical convergence. The optimality is defined as a total cost over the infinite horizon.
